Mosiah Gonzalez
AMFT
Mosiah is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of mental health experience. He received his master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of Southern Mississippi and Ph.D. in Medical Family Therapy from Saint Louis University. He is a Professor at Weber State’s Child and Family Studies department where he teaches courses on family relationships, human development, and other topics that relate to lifespan. Therapeutically, he takes a developmental approach to working with individuals and couples, meaning that he strives to see everything in its context.
While in Mississippi, he learned a lot from his time working professionally with men going through substance use recovery. He particularly enjoys employing narrative therapy ideas into his work, helping individuals rewrite their life stories in ways that are productive and conducive toward change. Mosiah is also a native Spanish speaker. As such, he is aware of the inseparable role that culture and identity play in how we experience life.
When not working, you can bet that you’ll find him either in the kitchen cooking or enjoying a good story.
