Allyson Howell
LCSW, PMH-C
Allyson (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and
Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) specialist, offering a
down-to-earth, warm, and deeply human space where you can show up
exactly as you are. She specializes in maternal mental health, grief and
loss, medical trauma, and navigating major shifts in faith and identity.
Life has a way of throwing shifts at us that leave us feeling destabilized,
exhausted, or deeply grieving. Whether you are struggling with the
unexpected feelings during the transition to motherhood, distressing
intrusive thoughts during pregnancy or postpartum, navigating the heavy
quiet surrounding a neonatal loss, processing medical or reproductive
trauma, or burning out from carrying the weight of caring for others as a
healthcare worker or first responder, you don’t have to carry it alone.
My Approach
My Approach
Healing isn’t about "fixing" you; it’s about rebuilding a safe connection to
yourself, your body, and the life you want to lead. My practice is
trauma-informed and rooted in evidence-based therapies, including:
● Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): To help you drop the
struggle with painful or intrusive thoughts and reconnect with what
truly matters to you.
● Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): To offer practical tools for
emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and grounding during
overwhelming moments.
● Mindfulness: To gently bring you back to the present moment,
fostering self-compassion and somatic safety.
Together, we will hold space for the pain while building a pathway toward
genuine hope and healing.
